Super Second Saturday

Here's a quick reminder that if you're out in the Fairhope area and are up for it, tomorrow (Jan 9th) is Super Second Saturday at Southern Antiques and Accents. Don't forget to take a peek in the CraftyHope Booth (at the top left of the slight ramp after you walk in the store).

I updated the booth yesterday so there are loads of new items including Sale items on the bottom shelf. And, everything in the store is 10% off! Plus, there will be giveaways, demonstrations, and food available!

New at SAA (for Super Saturday)

In addition to finding my unique handmade jewelry in the CraftyHope Etsy Shop, you can also shop locally for it in the CraftyHope booth at Southern Antiques and Accents in Fairhope, Alabama. Here's a look at some of what's new in the booth.

When you walk in the door of the old bowling alley (seriously, yes!), there's a row of tall cases on the left. My booth is the last one before you get to the counter.

Here's a closer look.

These top two shelves contain first a few display necklaces then a shelf of pieces that include found and salvaged materials.

Below them are these two shelves.

On top, you'll find jewelry that's made from old cookie tins. And, below that are pieces made from a variety of mixed materials. On the very bottom shelf (not pictured), I have my bargain bin along with other SALE/reduced-price items. 

Here's an even closer look at some of the shelves.

Each month at the Antique Mall, there's a special event. This used to be restricted to a few hours one evening, but now takes up a whole Saturday with extended hours! It's called Super Second Saturday. You'll see most of the details on the chalkboard outside the store.

And, if you can't make it this Saturday, the store is open seven days a week. So, if you're ever in Fairhope, make sure to check it out. In addition to taking up the whole old bowling alley, the shop also includes part of the old skating rink. There are loads of booths (besides mine) to explore and lots of treasures to be found.

It's Super at SAA (Southern Antiques and Accents)

In addition to selling my handmade jewelry in the CraftyHope Etsy shop online, I also rent a small booth at Southern Antiques and Accents (SAA), an antique mall in Fairhope, AL. Recently, they transitioned from having a Ladies Night one a month to Super Second Saturday in which there are storewide savings of 10%, door prizes, a food truck outside, and some "after-hours" entertainment and fun. This weekend includes the second Saturday of the month (Sep 12th) - make sure you don't miss out on the shopping and savings! I just rearranged and swapped out stock in my booth, so let me give you a little look at some of the pieces you'll find there. 

These copper filigree and recycled sari silk earrings scream of autumn. 

There's something about orange that always feels like Fall to me. This handmade pendant is paired with a few beads and a brass chain.

The Vintaj frames only needed a little accent. The simplicity of these golden earrings makes them perfect for just about any occasion and outfit.

My use of unusual materials makes most of my jewelry one-of-a-kind. In this instance, an old wooden spool was accented with text from a vintage French book. As well, much of the chain of the necklace uses vintage mother-of-pearl buttons. 

At the center of this bracelet sits a reproduction metal tag from Tim Holtz's Assemblage jewelry line. The toggle clasp is from this same line. To connect them, a chain of glass beads in plum and gray were wired together.

Here's another pair of neutral but pretty earrings. The brass tassels and pearls give these earrings an air of sophistication. 

Copper was paired with this almost-rusty skeleton key to reflect the orange of the two. A fabric connector was made to attach the key to the handmade chain of copper beads and faux pearls. 

One of the tins in my stash has a map motif on it with these little ships on it. They fit beautifully in these bezels surrounded by brass-colored beads. The filigree bead and rhinestone bead on each of them add a touch of femininity.

More tin was used to capture some eco-dyed fabric and lace for the pendant of this necklace. A mix of white and off white beads on brass wire complete this unique beauty. 

That's just a taste of what you'll find in my booth currently.

Ladies' DAY at SAA

For a few years now, Southern Antiques and Accents in Fairhope has reserved the third Tuesday of each month as Ladies' Night. They've hosted the event after hours and included food, drinks, live music, and a storewide discount. Since the Covid-19 precautions, they've canceled a few of these events and decided that today's event will simply occur ALL DAY LONG (during business hours) to allow for social distancing and other precautions. You'll find snacks, a 10% storewide discount, and door prizes throughout the day. I've got a pretty pair of earrings included in the door prizes!

This is the same place where I have a booth. If you're in the area and feel safe enough to visit, please do. Here are a few of the items currently stocked in the CraftyHope booth (located on the left, just inside the door - at the top of the ramp).

This brightly colored Art Beads Bracelet features several handmade beads.

More color, but this time for your neck and made from upcycled cookie tins.

Recycled sari silk and blue beads were used to create these fun hoop earrings.

Here's a new necklace straight out of my Bead Box that uses some of my art journaling supplies.

I think these bright and long tassel earrings are perfect for summer.

But, if you're more of a subtle romantic, I've got you covered there too with this beauty featuring handmade polymer clay elements.

Again with the fun summer hoops, these were made using old tin that was altered with paint and stencils.

A bit of work was put into making this woven necklace. And, the tassel is so fun.

Here's another something new from the Bead Box. I'll be revealing all of what was made from there soon.

CraftyHope at SAA Fairhope

Oh yes, it's Ladies Night!

 That's right...it's back. From 6-8 pm tonight, you can browse Southern Antiques and Accents with live music, drinks, and a 10% storewide discount. 

They do encourage everyone to practice social distancing and not come out if you're sick. I thought I'd share a little of what's available in my booth in case you're interested.

I recently stocked it for summer with loads of bright colors and fun accessories like the above pairs of earrings.

There's an array of necklaces that include artisan elements.

Beachy pieces are in stock.

 I made sure to put out my brightest tin necklaces.

I think these earrings are PERFECT for the Fourth of July!

 Of course, there are more subtle pieces like this crystal necklace. 

 Everything has a one-of-a-kind flair!

 But, you might see a few things that would work together!

 These firefly earrings and sailboat earrings are also great for the season.

 I'm sure there's something on the shelves that speaks your language!

 There's loads to explore in my one little booth, including a bottom shelf of sale and bargain bin items. 

And, then there's the rest of the store!

Whether you can make it to Fairhope tonight for Ladies Night or have to wait, you should definitely check out Southern Antiques and Accents at 254 South Greeno Road (behind the Pizza Hut) and be sure to follow the Southern Antiques and Accents Facebook Page and Instagram account. In the Booth and on Etsy

While we're all encouraged to stay home, I thought it might be nice to share some eye candy with you! Of course, all of these items are for sale too. If you're not aware; CraftyHope jewelry can be found in only two places: a booth at Southern Antiques and Accents (SAA) in Fairhope, AL and online in the CraftyHope Etsy Shop. 

I want to start by mentioning some of the changes at SAA because of the virus. 

1. The monthly Ladies' Night that was scheduled for this evening has been canceled. However, there are plans to make it up to local shoppers with a month-long small business celebration hosted by the city of Fairhope along with a weekend vintage market event for SAA vendors. Stay tuned for details on all of that. 
2. For now, SAA is open its regular business hours and the store will be sprayed and cleaned at regular intervals throughout each day. 
3. For those locals who don't want to come into the store, make sure to follow SAA on Instagram and Facebook to get peeks at what's for sale. The staff is willing to take orders over the phone and you can receive your orders via curbside pickup or delivery. Or, they are willing to store the item(s) until you can make it to the store. There are SO MANY OPTIONS!

Since this is the case, why don't we take a look at the booth!

My booth consists of six cubbies/shelves. The top one simply displays the name of my booth since it's too high to be reached easily. Below that, I have my featured shelf.

It's also fairly high, so it holds only a few items to catch your attention. 

The rest of the shelves are organized by some of the materials used in the jewelry designs. First is the Found and Salvaged cubby.

I recently swapped out all the jewelry in the booth to give it more of a brighter, spring feel. 

Below that is where you'll find my upcycled tin jewelry.

Then, there's a general mixed-media shelf of jewelry.

And, finally is the bottom shelf of sale and bargain bin items.

While I just re-stocked the bargain bin, I've had a lot of sales from it in the last week.

You should be able to click on any of the above pictures to get a closer look at each shelf and shop your heart away!

Of course, this is a little more difficult if you're not local to Fairhope. That's where the Etsy Shop comes in.
