How Many Projects are Too Many

I'm wondering: how many projects is it acceptable to have in progress on at one time? Two? Three, maybe? I just realized that I've got projects scattered all over my house. 

On my desk, you'll find some in-progress tin and button earrings.

Next to the desk, on top of my art cart, is the open art journal - waiting for inspiration to strike on how to finish those pages.

My metal punch sits waiting in the floor of the craft room (it's the sturdiest place to work) for me to punch more tin circles. 

Nearby is my re-stocked bead box, but I really only use it when I'm out of the house. 

The coffee table holds a tray of beads and wire - a leftover bead necklace in progress. 

Near it, I've got a notebook full of project ideas for the upcoming September Challenges. 

And, then there's the big project - replacing our deck. I should actually be out there pulling out nails. Instead, I'm inside writing this, finishing my coffee, and waiting for my phone to charge so I can listen to music while I tackle the house-cleaning before doing a little shopping.

So seriously, how many projects are too many?

I apologize for being so quiet over here in my corner of the blogosphere. I have many reasons. I had full intentions of posting on Halloween. However, I ended up getting sick and laying on the couch all afternoon and then went to my mama's to see my nieces and other family and kids for the holiday.

I also know that with the election going on, y'all had more important issues to attend to than my lil' ole blog. I've always been a peace-keeper. I had my own views about how the election should go, but because many people that are close to me had other views, I decided to leave the election out of my blog posts, rather than starting debates. I am glad that the election is over and look forward to what awaits the country with our new president.

I want to make sure this post gets up, so let me go ahead and share just a few things. Do you remember the contest I won? Here's how my prize was packaged (too cute!)

This One's All Over the Place

Can you believe it? I've been blogging here for a year. Yesterday was my one year BLOGIVERSARY. I intended to mark it with a special blog post, but couldn't come up with anything special enough in the little bit of time I had. So - like my birthday - there will not be much of a celebration. In fact, let's just move on.
I had a nice birthday dinner with my family on Friday and received some beautiful flowers from my mom, step-dad, and nieces.
I was also able to craft almost all weekend, with breaks for eating and a dance/football game thing on Saturday night. (ROLL TIDE by the way!)
It is Techie Tuesday and I don't really want to get into all of that - instead just go check out this search by color flickr tool. For a color-freak like me, it's addictive.

• How about a downloadable Halloween card? It's soooo cute, I mean scary, I mean it's "pretty creepy" hehehe.
  
• For some Scary movie suggestions you can check out this list of the 20 scariest movies of all time OR this list of the top 25 Halloween movies. Really, these two lists are quite similar with only a few differences. And, being a scary movie fan - I'd have to agree with MOST of the suggestions listed.

I just love Halloween - there's so much cool stuff out there on the internet.

OH! I've also been working on some new Halloween jewelry. You might remember the earrings and bracelets I made last year. This year's project will not be a shrink plastic one. However, it's also not done yet, so here's a sneak peek:

I'm A Crafty Maniac

I've actually focused some of my time and energy into crafting over the past several days. Hopefully, this explains my lack of posting.

I've kinda jumped around from one medium to another, but all projects have been jewelry-based.

Here's what I've gotten done:
On Saturday, I made a shrink plastic pendant involving my odd doodling style and some colored pencils.
On Sunday, I spent the morning meditating with my beads and was able to produce a necklace and some earrings for my mom's birthday. They include some polymer clay mokume gane beads that were made with her in mind a few months back. I hope she likes it. Her birthday is Friday. I was also able to pick back up a fall-themed free form peyote necklace and decided that it is screaming to be a bracelet instead. It is one of those MANY half-completed items on my craft table. It's still not done because after lunch and some shopping, I felt the need to solder. But first, I needed to create something to frame with the solder. Therefore, I began playing with a variety of scrapbooking papers and decorative edged scissors before leaving the house to have dinner with friends. After dinner, I did some decorating of the paper with foil tape, stencils, and stamp pads. Just before bed, I cut the page into pieces that would fit under the 1 1/2 inch slides.
While at work on Monday, I doodled onto and colored more shrink plastic. When I got home, I got to cut and shrink it!! Then, I started back on the decorated paper squares for soldering. I stamped, distressed, and stuck glitter letter stickers on them before heading to bed.
I worked from home on Tuesday and didn't craft until I was cooking dinner (waiting for rice.) I began cutting out metal embossing sheets, stamping them with words, and antiquing the words. I eventually was able to copper foil the edges of two of them before I got tired and was ready to JUST watch the movie with LOML*

I probably won't get to craft tonight since I will be helping my mom out with my nieces (as I try to do once a week or so as time and schedules permit.) But, I may try to take some shrink plastic over to her house just in case.

As you can tell, I've got a little bit of CADD (Craft Attention Deficit Disorder) and quickly jump from project to project as my attention and mood allows. This is why I have a table full of unfinished projects. As well, I've been crafting all over the place - the kitchen counter and the computer table in the living room have seen their share of craft action so far this week. Look at the condition of my work areas right now.....
